Questions
Is remove.bg shutting down?
remove.bg has announced that its standalone website, accounts, self-service API, desktop app and plugins end on 1 December 2026. Background removal moves into Canva, and the developer API moves to Leonardo. Check remove.bg’s own notice for the details of your account.
How is ImageToast different?
The AI runs in your browser, so there is nothing to upload and no account or credits. The free download has the same pixel size as your photo, with no watermark. remove.bg ran on its servers and its free download was a small preview.
Is the quality as good?
For portraits we use MODNet, a matting model built for hair and shoulders. Objects use U²-Net. Server tools running large models can still do better on hard cases, so check the preview and touch up with the Keep and Erase brushes.
Can I remove backgrounds from many photos at once?
Yes. Add up to 10 photos per batch on the free plan and download one ZIP. Pro removes the limits.
Is there an API?
No. ImageToast is a browser tool; there is no server that sees your images.
