Questions

What does DPI change?

DPI (dots per inch) is a label in the file that tells printers how large to print it. Changing only the DPI keeps every pixel, so the quality and look stay the same. A 1200×1800 px photo at 300 DPI prints at 10.16 × 15.24 cm.

How do I make a photo 300 DPI at 3.5 × 4.5 cm?

Choose “Resize to an exact print size”, type 3.5 and 4.5 and keep 300 DPI. You get a 413 × 531 px JPG tagged 300 DPI.

Which DPI does the PAN card form want?

Protean (NSDL) asks for photos and signatures scanned at 200 DPI. Use Image to 200 DPI, then check the KB limit on the form.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The DPI is rewritten in your browser.
